Better outcomes for mother and child

Alfred Abuhamad, MD, who serves as President, Provost and Dean of the School of Medicine, Mason C. Andrews Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is leading a study of the human placenta during early pregnancy.

The project, funded by a $2.725 million NIH grant, aims to improve care for difficult pregnancies by looking for early signs of pregnancy complications within the placenta.
