Effective June 30, 2021, the EVMS Jones Institute transitioned all patient care to our affiliated partner Shady Grove Fertility (SGF), a premier fertility center and home to over 85,000 SGF babies born across the country. SGF Jones Institute, the new name for the Jones Institute Reproductive Endocrine Clinical Practice, opened to patients on July 7, 2021 in the Jones location on the EVMS campus in Norfolk where the REI Fellowship resides.

The late Drs. Howard and Georgeanna Jones, founders of the EVMS Jones Institute, integrated science and practice as an early example of translational research. This tradition has continued since our fellowship was established in 1981.

Complement your training and advance patient care in our active research programs. As an investigator, you’ll study the endometrium, implantation, oocyte maturation and oocyte donation, male infertility and more. Fellows work one-on-one with experienced faculty and can take advantage of the vast resources available for training.
The SGF Jones Institute offers the latest assisted-reproductive technologies such as intrauterine insemination, in vitro fertilization, donor eggs, and egg freezing. The SGF Jones Institute is the home base for the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship. Fellows conduct research in the SGF Jones Institute laboratory and treat patients at the institute's clinics.
Sentara Princess Anne Hospital is a 160-bed acute care hospital that serves southern Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and northeastern North Carolina. Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, in partnership with Bon Secours Virginia, brings quality clinical outcomes, experienced physicians, award-winning patient safety initiatives, advanced technology and a patient-centered approach to care for patients. A Magnet medical center with more than 100 physicians and services offered, Sentara Princess Anne Hospital provides its communities with comprehensive healthcare.
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, the primary teaching hospital for EVMS, is home to the area's only Level I trauma center and burn trauma unit and the region's premier heart program. Sentara Norfolk General's obstetrics unit has about 700 maternal transports and 3,000 deliveries annually. Fellows assist on the labor and delivery service and sharpen their skills in genital tract surgery and robotic-assisted surgery at this hospital.
Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is the only freestanding children's hospital in Virginia. With 206 beds, it is the regional pediatric referral center for coastal Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The hospital, a pediatric Level I trauma center, is home to the area's largest and most advanced neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, as well as the state's only acute inpatient rehabilitation unit. Faculty are involved in research locally, nationally and internationally.
The Hampton Roads region that EVMS serves is a vibrant community with 1.7 million residents scattered across nine cities and five counties in southeastern coastal Virginia.

The EVMS Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship is an ACGME-accredited three-year program resulting in eligibility for American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology subspecialty certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
