* Registration Required: Graduates, please use your EVMS email address when completing the checklist items that require registration. This will ensure that your registrations have been completed correctly, prevent duplicate registrations and reduce the amount of excess communication you receive. If you no longer have access to your EVMS email, please email EVMS Special Events.
January/February
- Review Commencement website and FAQ page for important information about Commencement. Find information about graduation guidelines and requirements.
- Graduates should complete the steps below no later than Friday, March 1, 2024:
- RSVP for the EVMS Commencement Ceremony.* Please provide your intent to participate in the Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Registration for ancillary events such as White Coat ceremonies and other celebrations will open in early March. You will receive additional information by email.
- Order your Regalia.* Find more information about required regalia and order by the deadline to avoid a late fee.
- Provide your name pronunciation.* Instructions will be sent to your EVMS email.
- Please make sure all outstanding balances for tuition and fees have been satisfied.
- Order your printed Graduation Announcements.
- Send complimentary digital announcement to family and friends.
- Send the Commencement registration form to your family and friends.
- Secure hotel rooms for family and guests.
March
- The deadline to complete the steps below was Friday, March 1, 2024. If you have questions or concerns, please contact EVMS Special Events.
- RSVP for the EVMS Commencement Ceremony
- Order your Regalia
- Record your Name
- Registration for ancillary Commencement week events such as White Coat Ceremonies, Military Commissioning, Alumni Receptions and other celebrations opened in early March.* Instructions were sent to your EVMS email. The deadline to register is Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
- School of Health Professions programs complete mandatory exit counseling for any Institutional Loans or Loans for Disadvantaged Students.
- Provide Name Change Form, if applicable, to the Registrar's Office. The form should be submitted no later than Monday, March 18, 2024.
- Students can no longer charge services to their library accounts after Friday, March 29, 2024.
April
- MD Students complete mandatory Exit Interview for any Institutional Loans, Loans for Disadvantaged Students, or Primary Care Loans.
- Create your EVMS Alumni profile.*
- Download and share EVMS Digital Resources with your family and friends.
- Secure hotel rooms for family and guests before the deadline so you don't miss out on EVMS' special rates.
- Deadline to register for all Commencement Week events is Wednesday, April 24, 2024.*
- Download the 2024 EVMS Commencement App to stay informed of important information and deadlines for Commencement.* Instructions will be sent to your EVMS email.
May
- Obligations to the library must be cleared by Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
- Submit Diploma Address Change Form no later than Friday, May 10, 2024.
- Purchase EVMS merchandise. Get your EVMS Alumni gear before you leave the area. Items are available at Matthew's EVMS bookstore. The bookstore will be open Thursday, May 16 and Friday, May 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday, May 18 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Attend mandatory Virtual Commencement Information Session scheduled Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 10 a.m. EDT.
- Review Graduate day-of instructions and attend the 2024 EVMS Commencement Ceremony Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10 a.m. EDT. Day-of instructions will be available in early May.
- Don't forget to share your special day with the EVMS community on social media. Tag @EVMSedu in photos and use the official commencement hashtag, #EVMSGrad2024, when sharing memories and achievements online. June/July
- Register to receive your Certified Electronic Credentials.
- Upon successful completion of your academic program, your diploma will be mailed to the address that you provided on your graduation application or address change form. You can expect to receive it in late June.
- Your EVMS email will be deactivated Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
