The Faculty Mentoring Advisory Group will assist in the planning and phased implementation of a program of mentorship for faculty. It will support and foster a collaborative and inclusive culture in alignment with the EVMS mission.

The group will: 

  • Provide advice to aid the development and implementation of a mentoring program
  • Support the creation of a pragmatic evaluation plan for the program
  • Create programming and activities to raise awareness and support implementation of the program
  • Facilitate relationship building to support the growth of the program
  • Participate in the planning decisions regarding the program such as the type of mentoring model to be utilized
  • Identifying infrastructure needed to implement the program including a multi-year roadmap to guide towards full implementation

Luanne Thorndyke, MD, FACP, FAMWA

Dr. Thorndyke is an independent consultant, coach, and speaker, with academic affiliation as affiliate professor of medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She served for a decade as Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs at the 3-school health sciences campus of UMass, leading the Office of Faculty Affairs and integrally involved in all matters related to medical, nursing, and graduate school faculty, including recruitment, onboarding, APT processes; campus governance; department/faculty reviews; salary equity; leadership development and mentoring. She has deep experience in faculty affairs, program planning and organizational development.
