Gwen George, MD Year 2Gwen George

Gwen is a second year medical student at EVMS and has been a trained Teen Health 360 educator for a little over a year! She became a Teen Health 360 educator because she wishes she had a program like this when she was first learning about healthy relationships.

Her favorite part about teaching is watching the growth in participants from their introduction to getting their certificate. Gwen plans to go into pediatrics and when she’s not busy with school, she’s snuggling with her cats, Star and Tabbi!

Amanda GravesAmanda Graves, MD Year 2

Amanda is an MS2 at EVMS. Amanda is originally from central Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park for undergrad. Amanda enjoys running, lifting, yoga, and hiking in their free time.

Amanda was introduced to Teen Health 360 through EVMS. The experience has pushed them out of my comfort zone and allowed her to interact with various age groups. Amanda recommends it to anyone that wants to engage with their community on a topic vital to individual and community-level health. It has also been a fantastic way to meet other EVMS students!

Danielle Long, MD Year 3Danielle Long, MD

Danielle is a current third year medical student at Eastern Virginia Medical School planning to apply into Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has worked with Teen Health 360 since her first year, and has loved the opportunity to be able to teach sexual education out in the community.

Her favorite part of being involved in the organization has been being able to see the growth in knowledge of the students throughout their 10 lessons. She also presented about the program at the American Public Health Association's Annual Meeting in 2022, showcasing how successful our program has been at improving our students' sexual health knowledge.

Alex CulverAlex Culver, MD Year 2

Alex was born in Portsmouth, VA, grew up in Isle of Wight, and now attends EVMS as part of the class of 2026. With an interest in primary care and public health, he is thrilled and grateful to have had the opportunity to work together with his community towards improving regional health education and literacy for teens.

Janvi AgrawalJanvi Agrawal, MD Year 2

Janvi is a second year medical student at EVMS, proud Longhorn, and a recent transplant to Norfolk. Her involvement as a health educator with Teen Health 360 started in 2021 while she was completing the Medical Masters program at EVMS.

While progressing through her medical education, she has since led students from 4th grade through 8th grade through the Get Real comprehensive sex education program here in Hampton Roads.

Janvi has also been a researcher with the Teen Health 360 program, studying educational outcomes in graduating students as well as creating ways to increase levels of engagement.

Nikki DrakeNikki Drake, MD Year 3

Nikki is a third year medical student at EVMS and has been a trained Teen Health 360 educator for a little over a year. She was interested in becoming involved in the Teen Health 360 program because she is passionate about educating youth on maintaining their health and carrying out effective decision-making, which are crucial with peer pressure during adolescence.

Her favorite part about teaching are the revelations participants will have and take away from our engaging dialogue about sexual health topics. Nikki plans to pursue either Ophthalmology or Internal Medicine, and she enjoys playing sports and visiting museums in her free time!
