EVMS Pediatric Research operates 3 divisions in partnership with the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD). Our goal is to improve the quality of life for children in the community and beyond. We work toward that goal by providing research support, conducting studies and clinical trials and more.

The Community Health and Research (CHR) division is a group of interdisciplinary researchers who conduct scientific investigations and implement evidence-based community interventions to improve the health of children and their families. For more than 25 years, the division has managed successful major grants from federal, state and private agencies. Learn more about the Community Health and Research division.

The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) division offers children and their families within the Hampton Roads community the opportunity to participate in national clinical trials for new and improved pharmaceuticals. We also offer research support services to Pediatrics faculty and other research faculty throughout EVMS. Many CRU studies are carried out at CHKD. Learn more about the Clinical Research Unit.

The Basic Sciences division performs basic science research in the areas of molecular genetics, microbial pathogenesis and molecular fingerprinting. Learn more about the Basic Sciences division.
