What is CEREQ?

The Center for Community-Engaged Research and Health Equity (CEREQ) is a multi-institutional network of community-engaged research scholars at EVMS, Hampton University, Norfolk State University and Sentara Healthcare, offering collaborative partnerships, expertise, and research support to EVMS.

CEREQ fosters connections between researchers and field experts. The CEREQ staff assists you in identifying potential collaborative partners with complementary skills and expertise, and supports you in various stages of developing a community-engagement focused research project.

To build long-lasting research infrastructure – people, processes, and systems – and increase regional capacity for collaborative research within a multi-institutional network of community- engaged researchers and community-based organizations.

To establish Hampton Roads as a nationally recognized leader in community-engaged research by advancing the field through community partnerships aligned with world-class scholarship.
