Interview Day FAQs

Please review the interview day schedule. It explains where to be and when to be there. Arrival time at Lewis Hall is 9:30 a.m., and the day is over after your personal interview has ended.

Parking is available at your expense in the public parking garage across from Lewis Hall off Olney Road.

Approximately 650-850 applicants are interviewed each year from September through March.

The interview is a panel interview that lasts about 30 to 45 minutes. Ideally, the interview panel consists of a basic scientist, a clinician and a medical student. One member of the interview panel is a member of the MD Admissions Committee.

There is plenty of opportunity to interact with students on your interview day. Students will take you on a tour of Lewis Hall, the Harry T. Lester Education and Research Building and accompany you to lunch. Our students are extremely warm, friendly and approachable.

Generally, it takes about four weeks after your interview before you are notified of a decision about your candidacy. The earliest an acceptance can be offered for the general pool is Oct. 15. Individuals applying through the Early Decision Program (EDP) will receive a decision no later than Oct. 1.

Once placed on the waiting list, you are encouraged to call Admissions to learn about your placement. Since EVMS has rolling admissions, there is normally a lot of movement on the waiting list. We will offer approximately 300 acceptances to fill a class of 151.
