Course description: Practice urogynecology in office and hospital settings, and gain hands-on, supervised experience in the operating room. This course provides the opportunity to manage outpatient urodynamic testing and other evaluations pertinent to patients with urinary incontinence.

Objectives:

  1. Basic knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of female incontinence and related issues
  2. Basic knowledge in operative techniques including cystoscopy
  3. Basic knowledge of urodynamic testing
  4. Ability to perform pelvic exams in an office setting

Distribution of student’s effort:

  • Patient contact: 30% inpatient, 70% outpatient
  • Faculty contact: 30 to 40 hours per week
  • Surgery: 12 hours per week
