Patricia Laverdure, OTD, OTR/L, BCP, FAOTA
Program Director

Patricia Laverdure is the program director of the EVMS Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program. She earned her BS in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Hampshire in 1980 and her PhD in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University in 2012. Dr. Laverdure is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association and a board certified in pediatrics. In addition, she holds certification from the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Academic Leadership Institute amd serves as a trainer in the Fieldwork Educators Certificate Program. Her research interests include school based occupational therapy practice, practice competency development, and knowledge implementation.

Nancy Krolikowski, OTD, OTR/L, CHT
Academic Fieldwork Coordinator

Nancy Krolikowski is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the EVMS Doctor of Occupational Therapy program. She previously served as an Associate Professor and Program Director for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at South University Virginia Beach. She received a BS degree in Occupational Therapy from Western Michigan University, and a MS degree in Occupational Therapy, with an emphasis in upper extremity management from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. Shehas a PhD in Occupational Therapy from South University West Palm Beach and is certified in hand therapy. She has extensive experience in hand therapy and founded two private practices for upper extremity management and continues to practice occupational therapy as a Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist, focusing on the practice of hand therapy. Dr. Krolikowski’ s research interests include occupation-based therapy in outpatient and community settings.

Peggy Galdini, OTD, OTR/L, CHT
Capstone Coordinator

Peggy L. Galdini is an Assistant Professor and Capstone Coordinator in the EVMS Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program. She earned her OTD with a concentration in Orthopedics and Executive Leadership from St. Augustine in 2017. She became board certified in hand therapy, earning her CHT in 2014, and holds an MS in Occupational Therapy, and a Bachelors of Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Galdini has been an occupational therapy practitioner for 15 years, working in outpatient hand therapy and leadership for a large healthcare organization where she continues to do consulting work. She serves on the Leadership Board of the Virginia Occupational Therapy Education Council and serves as an Adjunct Professor and Capstone Mentor with the University of St. Augustine.

Michelle Thompson, PhD
Assistant Professor, Research 

An an occupational therapy practitioner for 34 years, Dr. Michelle Boulanger Thompson  is an Assistant Professor in research and teaching  in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences at Old Dominion University. She works with individuals with disabilities and their families across the lifespan in early intervention (birth to age 3), public schools (ages 2-22), and adult home health. She serves on the Board of Directors for Mosaic, has a leadership and research role for the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities’ (AAIDD) and Creative Arts special interest network, and serves on the Virginia Division on Early Childhood’s (VA-DEC) leadership board.
