Medical Education: Ain Shams University

Hometown: Egypt

Why EVMS?: In EVMS, I saw an opportunity to grow and learn, not only from my colleagues and supervisors but also my patients. At EVMS, I knew I had multiple opportunities to be the best physician for my patients. I also felt a great sense of community and friendship within the fellowship and residency program. During my training I found the residents and supervisors to be diverse,  and everyone was enthusiastic about the work they do here on daily basis. Working with these individuals side by side is very encouraging and rewarding. Aside from the program and its many attributes, Norfolk itself has been a wonderful place to live in, for me and my lovely family.

Hobbies: Playing Chess, playing Ping Pong, teaching, spending time with family, traveling

Areas of Interest: Infectious diseases

Future Goals: After completing my residency, I hope to continue working in an academic center with teaching responsibilities that allow me to develop as both a clinician and a scientist. I would like to build life-long friendships with patients and colleagues.
