Why I Chose EVMS: In a year of virtual interviews, I was very impressed with how well the personality of the program shone through. I could tell that the other residents not just got along but enjoyed spending time together. I was looking for a place where I could feel a sense of community. I could tell that the program valued not only what was on my resume but also who I was as a person. Dr. Knapp and the other faculty also were able to state the direction they saw the program going and the things that excited them about the future of educating EM residents. I could tell that EVMS was not only a strong program but had an exciting future. Norfolk is also a perfect location for my husband and I. We are only 2.5 hours from family on the Eastern Shore and have great access to both the Chesapeake Bay and the Ocean!
