The application for the Fellowship is through NRMP and all application deadlines will coincide with The Match requirements. 

All applicants are required to submit to the Fellowship Director:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • A one-page letter of intent/personal statement
  • Two letters of recommendation (one must be from your residency Program Director)
  • Submit to Fellowship Director Shirley Jones, DO at ajones@ept911.com

Interviews will be extended at the discretion of the Fellowship Director. 

Qualifications

All applicants must graduate from an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program. Applicants must be considered board-eligible or board-certified (BE/BC) by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). All applicants must qualify for a Virginia state medical license and be able to be credentialed in all seven Sentara facilities.

Master of Public Health (MPH)

Fellows on the two-year track must complete the requirements for a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from an institution approved by the Fellowship Director. Fellows will be required to complete a separate application for admission and be accepted to the MPH program of their choice prior to starting the MPH and fellowship. It is anticipated that the fellow will complete the MPH degree within 18-24 months, depending on the program chosen.
