Why I Chose EVMS: Hands down, because of the people. Several who trained here for residency stayed on as faculty, which speaks not only to the caliber of surgeon this program produces, but also to its culture. It is truly a joy to learn from and work with everyone in this program!
Hobbies & Interests: I am a classically trained pianist. Chopin and Liszt are two of my favorite composers, as their works invariably present a challenge. Lately, however, it has been fun to transcribe rock/new wave pieces– from Van Halen to the Police to Queen. I also try to play tennis and run regularly, and enjoy any and all board games!
Interesting Fact: I was a naval officer and deployed twice to the Arabian Gulf prior to medical school.
