Why I Chose EVMS: I chose EVMS because it is a high volume academic center with a wide breadth of exposure to surgical subspecialties. I also appreciated the flexibility the program provides regarding optional research years. Norfolk offers city amenities and has an international for travel, but is also within driving distance from my home so I am able to see friends and family.
Interesting fact: I have been skydiving and spent three weeks in Africa during medical school.
