Counseling & Art Therapy Application Process

The following elements must be completed before an invitation to interview can be granted to the applicant:

  • Complete and submit the online application and application fee. Apply by:
    • Dec. 15 for early decision
    • Feb. 15 for regular admissions and Early Assurance Program
    • Apr. 15 for international applicants who will require an F-1 Student Visa to study in the United States.
    • Submissions after Feb. 15 will be considered on a rolling basis. Submissions before Feb. 15 receive priority.
  • Submit two references from individuals who are acquainted with you academically and/or professionally.  References from close friends and family members are unacceptable.
  • Submit a personal statement that describes how or why you want to become an art therapist and your future goals.
  • Submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
  • Please complete your application early to ensure your preferred interview date. Invitations to interview will be sent out once your application is reviewed.

The all-day in-person interview dates are as follows:

Saturday, January 31, 2026
Friday, February 20, 2026
Friday, March 6, 2026

Official transcripts should be submitted electronically through GradCAS. If you experience technical difficulties or related problems in completing your online application, contact the applicant help center.

Note: All students begin this in-person program in the fall semester. Online programming is not available.
