Physical distancing and clinical preparedness will continue to be critical strategies in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. To that end, those EVMS employees who can work remotely and are approved by their supervisor should do so until further notice.

Supervisors are directed immediately to examine all positions within their departments to determine the positions that are essential (must be on-site) and the ones that can effectively work from home. Those who can work remotely should be directed to do so as soon as possible. Employees must have supervisory approval before they begin working remotely.

Supervisors and employees should quickly evaluate their needs for two-factor authentication to use email remotely and whether a VPN (virtual private network) connection is required. Our IT professionals are doing all they can to expedite meeting those needs. Also, consider how and when phones should be forwarded to individual employees to ensure that operations may continue as smoothly as possible.

Supervisors must provide a list of employees who will be working remotely to Human Resources as soon as possible. There are forms to be completed and signed, but this will be a secondary issue and can be completed as quickly as possible in the coming days.
