Translational Research Advancement through Collaborative Teams (TRACT)

TRACT was developed to catalyze and support innovative and interdisciplinary translational research representing new frontiers in basic science, translational, or public health concepts among intra-VHS collaborative teams.

 Supporting Partnerships in Academic Research and Knowledge (SPARK)

SPARK is a two-year award meant to promote collaborative research programs between VHS and Sentara Healthcare and advance the research missions of both organizations in clinical research. One VHS employee that fulfills the qualifications of PI and one Sentara employee as Co-PI or Co-Investigator are required for each submitted project.

EVMS-NSU Research and Training Incubator for Collaborations in Health Equity ENRICHe 

The ENRICHe grant was developed to provide seed grants for faculty and scholars at VHS and NSU to conduct collaborative research on topics related to health equity. Funded projects must have strong and meaningful collaboration between Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at ODU (VHS) and NSU. Questions about ENRICHe should be directed to ENRICHE@odu.edu.

Ryan Translational Research Fund
The Ryan Translational Research Fund is designed to encourage creative and risk-taking research that promotes the multidirectional integration of basic science research, patient oriented (clinical) research, and population-based research with a long-term goal of improving public health. 

Junior Clinical Investigator Program (JCIP)

The Junior Clinical Investigator Program is an integrated training program committed to the recruitment and development of highly regarded junior clinical faculty. This three-year program provides formal and individualized training under the tutelage of a dedicated primary mentor and a group of secondary mentors, based on the professional aspirations and career goals of the JCIP fellow. The JCIP fellow will be allocated 30% protected time for research and each JCIP fellow will receive $50k per year (up to 3 years) to support their research and professional development.
