Sami G. Tahhan M.D, FACP is a Professor of Internal Medicine and the Associate Chair for Faculty Development within the Internal Medicine Department at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Dr. Tahhan completed his medical school education and residency training at EVMS. Following his chief residency year, he joined as faculty in 2003 in the Division of General Internal Medicine at EVMS.
His interests lie in Medical Education, Mentorship and Faculty Development. He has received the academic teaching award from the American College of Physicians Virginia chapter and the EVMS Institutional Mentorship Award. He is an inaugural member of the Fine Family Academy of Educators.
Dr. Tahhan is thoroughly involved in medical education and has been a co-director of the multisystems disease module for the second-year medical students since 2018. Beyond delivering care to patients, Dr. Tahhan enjoys mentoring students and residents in writing clinical vignettes.
Outside work, Dr. Tahhan enjoys spending time with his wife, Valerie, and their adorable twin daughters.
