Why I Chose EVMS: I was initially drawn to EVMS for its robust resident experience in both Trauma and Pediatric Surgery, the specialties I was most interested in and remain passionate about. During my interview day at EVMS, I found myself genuinely enjoying my time with the current residents between interviews. I realized the importance of this feeling in what I was looking for in a program. This accurately foreshadowed many long days and nights of working hard but also laughing hard between clinical duties with my coresidents and attendings. Our training is rigorous, but coresidents and attendings that become family that you enjoy being around makes work much more fun and fulfilling.
