Observation and Pattern Recognition
In medicine, observational skills and pattern recognition are keys to patient care. How could those skills be enhanced during medical training? We are exploring those skills using learning experiences with medical students during our medical imaging, anatomy, neurology, or neuropathology courses.
Critical Thinking
Understanding the mechanism of disease, reaching the right clinical diagnosis, or selecting the best therapy are not straightforward solutions. We must ask the right questions before we can find the answers. Using a real neurological case study approach combining literature review and AI, we explore the art of question to contribute to the strength of critical thinking and decision-making processes in medicine.
Neurobiology of Learning
Can we augment the capability of self-learning? Using previous experience related to the biology of hippocampal kindling, brain plasticity, and brain activity, we explore different learning experiences to improve learning activities, including the intersection of neuroscience and art.
Mentorship
Mentorship is both way to professional success. How does mentorship in medical school impact trainees? Using experience in this laboratory and teletraining, we are studying how an informal longitudinal mentorship approach to contribute to personal and professional growth.
