Healthcare Administrative and Leadership Fellowship

Group gathered around a conference tableJump-start a career in academic Emergency Medicine (EM) by learning how to be an excellent and effective teacher.

This non-ACGME accredited fellowship will help the fellow develop a knowledge base and skills training that are essential for successful leadership in emergency medicine (EM) as a business, with a focus on the elements of an independent physician practice.

Fellows will report directly to Heidi Best, MD, who also serves as an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine at Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University, and President of Emergency Physicians of Tidewater (EPT). She is board certified in Healthcare, Leadership, Administration, and Management. Dr. Best also serves on the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) board of directors.
