Manasi Shah, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Dr. Shah graduated from Terna Medical College in Navi Mumbai, India. After two years working in a basic science research lab studying mechanisms underlying diabetic complications at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, she completed her Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at the University at Buffalo, N.Y. Following that, she completed her Endocrinology fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) in Dallas, Texas. In addition to her intense clinical training, Dr. Shah worked on the effects of sex hormones on fat metabolism in a major adipose biology lab at UTSW.

Dr. Shah’s clinical and research interests include management of obesity, all types of diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and other endocrine disorders. She enjoys educating patients and medical learners at all levels of their training.

Dr. Shah has received several scholarships and awards for her academic and research accomplishments, most recently the Burroughs Wellcome Fund Physician-Scientist Award and the Fellows’ Research Award from UT Southwestern Medical Center.
