Dr. Fang Fang received her doctoral degree in Sociology and master degree in Data Analysis and Applied Statistics from Virginia Tech. Upon the time joining HADSI, she was a post-doctoral research associate for a National-Institute-on-Aging funded research project at the University of Pittsburgh, studying mild cognitive impairment among older adults in Southwestern Pennsylvania. She has been conducting research on how older adults’ social life influence their cognition, and how older adults’ cognitive decline is associated with biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease. She is also involved in studies of social health, the ability to interact and form meaningful relationships with others globally, and how COVID-19 has impacted older adults’ social health and their cognitive outcomes.  Her research is multidiscipline and encompasses sociology, public health, and medical fields in studying health disparities and prevention interventions for health and well-beings of vulnerable populations.
