Dr. Brielle E. Ashley serves as the Associate Dean for Administration for the Virginia Health Sciences (VHS) School of Health Professions at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). In this role, she provides strategic leadership and oversight of the School’s academic operations, financial planning, and administrative infrastructure. Her work ensures alignment with institutional objectives, accreditation standards, and the evolving needs of students, faculty, and staff across the VHS landscape.

With more than 13 years of service at EVMS, Dr. Ashley brings extensive experience in higher education leadership, instructional design, program development, and institutional effectiveness. She has led critical enterprise-wide initiatives, including the transition to new learning management systems, the integration of instructional technologies, and strategic planning efforts that support academic innovation and operational efficiency.

Dr. Ashley specializes in program evaluation and the application of data-informed frameworks to drive continuous improvement in curriculum, student services, and institutional initiatives. Her work focuses on developing evidence-based strategies to ensure program quality, compliance, and student success.

She earned her PhD in Medical and Health Professions Education, with a research focus on graduate student perceptions of institutional prioritization of health and well-being. Her scholarship explores psychological capital and wellness in higher education and reflects her broader commitment to fostering inclusive, learner-centered environments that support academic and personal success.

Dr. Ashley also teaches in the Doctor of Health Sciences (DHSc) program and serves on multiple institutional committees focused on academic affairs, policy development, instructional technology, and faculty development.
