Amanda Quillin brings over 15 years of diverse healthcare experience, spanning direct patient care, administration, and allied health education. A graduate of the Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) Doctor of Health Sciences (DHSc) program, Amanda is a dedicated faculty member at the Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences Center at Old Dominion University.

Amanda is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and Health Literacy Specialist with expertise in designing and implementing patient education and health promotion programs. As a former clinical manager, she successfully leveraged patient education to enhance clinical workflows and improve patient outcomes. She continues to apply her expertise by contributing to curriculum development for multiple doctoral programs in addition to teaching full-time.

Beyond her academic and professional roles, Amanda is an advocate for health equity and maternal health. She serves as the Chair of the Chesapeake Commission on Health and Well-being and collaborates with organizations such as Patients rising, MoMMA's Voices, Mom Congress, and the Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative. She regularly travels to Washington, D.C., to lobby for improved maternal health policies. Amanda is an active member of the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) and the American Public Health Association (APHA). Her advocacy and research interests focus on patient empowerment, rural healthcare access, and maternal health outcomes. In her free time, Amanda enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time outdoors with her husband and two sons.
