Dr. Chakraborty is an Assistant Professor in the Master of Public Health Program in the Applied Data Science track at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). He earned his Ph.D. degree in statistics from the University of South Florida, Tampa and has two MS degrees in Mathematical Sciences and statistics. Previously Dr. Chakraborty was associated with the University of South Alabama, and Amity University as an instructor, and assistant professor of statistics. His experience is in teaching various upper-level statistics courses.

Dr. Chakraborty is passionate about conducting interdisciplinary collaborative research. His research is data-driven and focuses on health science, social science, economics, and finance. His research interests are focused on various topics, including, but not limited to statistical modeling, parametric and non-parametric analysis, data science and machine learning, Bayesian analysis, Time series analysis, statistical computation, and biostatistics.
