Meet the Patient Navigator

We are happy to announce that Jessica Mayo, RN, has taken on the newly created MFM Patient Navigator job. She has been with EVMS OB/GYN since August of 2022 as a Nurse Manager. With this new patient navigator position, Jessica will focus on the patient experience, improving patient flow, and growing our relationships - internally and externally.

Jessica functions as an independent nurse primarily in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division. Among her many roles, she will provide care and support patients by coordinating resources, scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, arranging for follow-up care and patient education. In addition to supporting the clinical and educational needs of our patients, Jessica helps us enhance patient access, quality of care, safety and ease of clinical evaluation for referring providers and services. The goal of this position is to improve patient flow, patient compliance, patient satisfaction and referring clinician satisfaction.
