Older patient with healthcare provider

On Wednesday, June 8, at noon the Waldholtz Wellness Series will continue its virtual event presentations with a session led by David Fryburg, MD, President and Co-Founder of Envision Kindness. During “The Promotion of Kindness as a Stress Reduction, Well-Being Intervention for Patients, Staff, Students and Trainees,” Dr. Fryburg will share insights with participants on how to:

  • Examine the effects of stress on emotions, cognitive function and behavior in patients and providers.
  • Identify how kindness media promotes joy, positive interpersonal connection, inclusion and generosity, and how it makes it a natural and easy-to-scale antidote to stress.

Envision Kindness is a nonprofit founded to promote kindness, compassion, joy and love in healthcare and elsewhere through kindness media. Dr. Fryburg is the author of a blog series, “Science of Kindness,” distributed by Psychology Today and other outlets. In his other professional work, Dr. Fryburg has led teams of scientists from academia, government and industry to solve problems related to how teams measure or diagnose disease for the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health Biomarkers Consortium. Dr. Fryburg was previously a faculty member of the University of Virginia as well as global head of translational medicine for cardiovascular, metabolic and endocrine diseases at Pfizer.
