EVMS Faculty Affairs and Professional Development is currently accepting proposals for the Professional Enrichment and Growth (PEG) Grants for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to faculty who wish to engage in an activity that will help the individual faculty achieve her/his professional goals as well as advance the academic missions of the department and the institution. The activity must be supported by the applicant’s Department Chair and should be of a nature as to lead toward advancement in academic rank or in the case of full Professors support their professional development in their area of expertise. 

Examples of such activities might include: working in another institution’s specialized laboratory to learn a new technique that will add a level of expertise that does not exist currently in a department; visiting another institution to acquire an educational skill or to better understand an innovative teaching model; or, attend a certification course or other conference specific to the applicant’s area of interest.

Faculty at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of the School of Medicine and School of Health Professions are eligible and encouraged to apply. The deadline for submission is Monday, April 5, at 9 a.m. Final award decisions will be made in early May. Following completion of the activity, each awardee will submit a written report summarizing the experience and outcomes to the Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development and give a 5 minute presentation plus Q&A to the Deans’ Council of Chairs meeting.
