EVMS students are joining organizations across the country to celebrate Patient Solidarity Week Feb. 12-16.

Created by the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS), Patient Solidarity Week gives all GHHS chapters, medical schools, and patient care institutions an opportunity to celebrate their dedication to ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care.

“Tell Me More” | Monday, Feb. 12 and Thursday, Feb. 15

Come learn unique qualities about patients and help inspire personal conversations by helping them fill out a poster about themselves.

Waiting Room Refreshments | Wednesday, Feb. 13 and Friday, Feb. 16

Help pass out healthy snacks to patients’ loved ones in waiting rooms around SNGH.

Valentine’s Day Flowers | Wednesday, Feb. 14

Give a carnation to a patient, classmate, medical provider, teacher, or anyone else who embodies humanistic qualities. Artificial flowers will be reserved for patients in the ICU.

“A good doctor is…” & “My patient taught me…” Community Boards | Feb. 12-16

Stop by the Heart Hospital and EVMS student lounge to share your experiences on our boards.

The national Gold Humanism Honor Society office established National Solidarity Day for Compassionate Care in 2011 to highlight the nation-wide movement promoting provider-patient relationships based on caring, personalization, and mutual respect.
