New students at a check-in table during orientation

New faces arrived on campus this week for EVMS’ New Student Orientation, taking place Aug. 9-11. The first orientation session includes 175 students in the Doctor of Medicine and Medical Master's programs.

A second orientation session will be held Aug. 23-25 for students in Art Therapy & Counseling, Public Health, Surgical Assisting, Anatomical Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Pathologists’ Assistant and Biomedical Sciences (PhD and Research).

During both sessions, Robert Fullilove, EdD, will give a keynote presentation entitled, “Cultural Humility and The Future of Medicine & Public Health.” Dr. Fullilove is the Associate Dean for Community and Minority Affairs and Professor of Clinical Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia University Medical Center and Co-Director of the Cities Research Group.

An MD White Coat Ceremony will be held Friday, Aug. 18 at Harrison Opera House.
