Study of galantamine as treatment for emotional problems of autism

The EVMS Autism Spectrum Disorders Program is conducting a clinical research trial of a potential medication for emotion regulation, information processing and flexibility of thought in ASDs. Study participants must be 12-25 years old with a pre-established diagnosis of ASD. Participants must be generally healthy and able to have enough verbal communication to respond to questions about how they feel in response to the medication. The study will last for approximately four months and require five visits to EVMS lasting one to two hours each. Parking will be paid and participants may receive a small reimbursement for their time. For additional information, call 757.446.5176.
