Wenxia (Joy) Wu, PhD, Assistant Professor in the School of Health Professions was recently honored as Visiting Professor by Southwest Medical University (SWMU) in Luzhou, China. SWMU, established in 1951, enrolls 17,000 medical and health professions students and has three teaching hospitals.

 

The university is located in Dr. Wu’s hometown. Two generations of her family have served as professors, physicians and health professionals. Dr. Wu says she is proud to continue the family tradition to serve as visiting professor there, bringing international perspectives from both sides.

Don Combs, PhD, Vice President and Dean of the EVMS School of Health Professions and Dr. Wu visited SWMU last year and signed MOU for academic collaborations.
