EVMS celebrates Women in Medicine Month
This September, EVMS joins with institutions across the country to mark Women in Medicine Month. “I am very proud that EVMS continues the work to actively empower more women and to increase their representation in leadership roles,” says Alfred Abuhamad, MD, President, Provost and Dean of the School of Medicine.
From research labs to clinics and classrooms, women in medicine and science are trailblazers, advocates, leaders and mentors in their fields, Dr. Abuhamad says.
"Women in Medicine Month is an ideal opportunity to reflect on the significant strides we have made toward gender equality in medicine — and how far we still have to go," he says. "Thank you again to all of the women making such important contributions to EVMS."
