Emergency Medicine team crowned VACEP Jeopardy champions

The correct response to this question helped EVMS Emergency Medicine residents take home a win at the Virginia College of Emergency Physicians’ conference in Hot Springs on Feb. 8.
The winning Jeopardy team included Peter Brooks, DO, Chief Resident; Julie Patel, DO, third-year resident and Phil Jordan, MD, Chief Resident. The team was led by Barry Knapp, MD, EVMS Foundation Distinguished Professor in Emergency Medicine and Professor of Emergency Medicine.
The pressure was intense, but the team was determined. “We had less than a second to buzz in on each question,” Dr. Brooks says, “but we had a number of our resident colleagues in the audience and we didn’t want to let them down.”
Their hard work paid off and the team took home the first-place trophy over teams representing Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Virginia, Portsmouth Naval Hospital and Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
