Matthew Chakan, MD
Matthew C. Chakan, MD is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School. A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Chakan comes to EVMS with education and training in both Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
He earned his doctoral degree from Boston University School of Medicine and later completed his residency at the Boston Medical Center. After working as an Internal Medicine physician at Allegheny Health Network for three years, he joined EVMS in 2017. His research interests include coordinated patient care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Dr. Chakan has presented his research at various conferences and co-authored various peer-reviewed journal articles. In 2013, he won the departmental Most Influential Quality Improvement Project award from Boston Medical Center for his work on optimizing the post-discharge and patient follow-up process.View Bio View CV
