Aaron B. Nelson, MD, CCD

Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism

Aaron Nelson is a board-certified endocrinologist practicing at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He is a native of Oak Hill, West Virginia, and received his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology/Physiology at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He received his doctorate from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2012, then remained in Morgantown for his Internal Medicine residency at WVU. In 2017, he completed a fellowship in Endocrinology at EVMS.

Dr Nelson currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the EVMS Center for Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders. He is a certified clinical densitometrist. He is an active member of several professional societies and has presented at both regional and national meetings  In addition to his clinical duties, he chairs the Diabetes Resource Council and serves as the medical director of Diabetes Management at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and Sentara Heart Hospital.   

Outside of medicine, he enjoys listening to music, sports and reading about history.
