Romesh K. Khardori, MD, PhD, MB, FACP


Romesh Khardori, MD, PhD, FACP, FRCP(C) has been Professor of Medicine: Endocrinology and Metabolism at Eastern Virginia Medical School since 2011. 

Dr. Khardori completed his early medical education and graduate studies at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He completed a fellowship in Endocrinology & Metabolism at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Ore., and subsequently completed another fellowship at the Joslin Diabetes Center/New England Deaconess – Beth Israel Hospital (Harvard Medical School). He also completed a fellowship in Neuro-endocrinology at Mount Sinai Medical School in New York under the mentorship of the late Professor Dorothy Krieger, MD, DSc. 

He is ABIM board certified in Internal Medicine and the subspecialty of Endocrinology Diabetes and Metabolism. Prior to joining EVMS he was Professor and Director of Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Molecular Medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He also served as Endocrinology Fellowship Training Program Director in Illinois and at EVMS. 

His research and clinical interests include growth and developmental disorder, pituitary disorders, biologic implications of manipulating GH-IGF signaling, complications of diabete and management of thyroid / adrenal disorders.
