Dr. Feliberti obtained his MD degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1999.  He completed his General Surgical Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2004 and completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at City of Hope National Medical Center in 2006. He joined the faculty at EVMS in 2006, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014.  He is the Vice Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology.

 Dr. Feliberti is the Associate Director for Clinical Cancer Research at the Leroy T. Canoles Jr. Cancer Research Center at EVMS. He serves as the site Principal Investigator for the Alliance in Clinical Trials in Oncology. His research interests include disparities in cancer care, neuroendocrine tumors, peritoneal surface malignancies. His clinical expertise includes breast cancer, pancreas cancer, complex gastrointestinal cancers including peritoneal surface malignancies (HIPEC), melanoma and sarcoma. He is the director of the Breast Evaluation Program, a program to evaluate and treat women without medical insurance for breast disease. He was awarded the 2019 President’s Faculty Award for Community Service. He received the 2011 Hume Miller Award from the Virginia Surgical Society

Dr. Feliberti is actively engaged in resident and medical student education in oncology, leading tumor conferences in breast, gastrointestinal and liver tumors. He is the course director for the Surgical Oncology elective for medical students. He has served on the Appointment and Promotions committee (2014-present), the Tenure Task Force committee (2017-2018) and the Medical Education Committee (2014-2016) at EVMS. He is the chair of the Cancer Committee at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (2007-present) and has been the director of the Breast Center at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (2009-2019),

Dr. Feliberti is the Past President of the Virginia chapter of the American College of Surgeons, having served as the Chair of the Cancer Committee from 2013-2019. He is a member of the Cancer Care Delivery Research committee of the Alliance/American College of Surgeon Clinical Research Program. He been a member of the Publications Committee (2014-2016) and the Program Committee (2016-2018) in the Association of Academic Surgeons. He has served on the Disparities Committee in the Society of Surgical Oncology (2009-2012). He also serves as an Associate Examiner for the American Board of Surgery.
