Request an Instruction Session
An important mission of the Library is to provide information services to EVMS faculty, staff, residents and students and to members of the community.
Faculty members should consider scheduling a session for their students if there is a research component to the class. Course-related library instruction is one of the most effective ways to teach students the art of research. Instructional sessions are even more effective if done in conjunction with a specific assignment so that students can practice the skills and strategies taught.
Sessions can include a general orientation to library services and resources, cover basic or advanced literature searching, or focus on a particular database or topic. Recent examples of presentations include "Finding Answers to Clinical Questions," "Advanced Medline Searching," and "Evidence Based Medicine."
For more information or to schedule a session, call April Pace, the Education Coordinator for the library, at 757-446-5846 or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
