BCSC Lectures

A series of lectures based on the AAO Basic and Clinical Science series provided by faculty members covering all sub-specialties. Additional sub specialty case conferences are held where specific topics are presented by our faculty.

Practice Management

A series of lectures that provide basic educational needs for the business side of ophthalmic practice including coding, regulatory news, and practice tips. This is offered thru lectures and online learning modalities.

Bedside Technical Procedures

Hands-on training for bedside technical procedures that include OCT, HVF, A-Scans, Lenstar, Camera Operations, GVF, and Refraction and refinement/scoping.

Case Conferences

Complicated or unique cases shared by sub-specialty faculty for active discussion with residents. Occur monthly with associated BCSC lecture.

Ethics Lecture Series

Lecture series provided by that focuses on interactive discussion of medical ethics

Other

These lectures include our small lecture series that occur over our 18 month curriculum such as contact lens, teaching rounds, cataract and eyesi, diversity and bias training, and various longitudinal curriculum or didactic offerings

Resident academic sessions

Case conference

Occur every Friday afternoon and are resident-lead. Assigned resident presents an interesting case to the group where an interactive and friendly discussion follows.

Weekly Video Review

Chief Resident assigns weekly videos from various open access sources which are used for Friday resident lecture discussion on AAO BCSC based topics.
