GOAL: Foster an attitude of service for alignment with the Vision of EVMS: “Eastern Virginia Medical School will be recognized as the most community-oriented school of medicine and health professions in the United States.”
- The program’s curriculum includes a service learning practicum experience (MPA 5807). The course provides an opportunity for students to spend at least 40 hours in a community, health-related agency during the clinical year of the program. The goal is to reinforce the community orientation EVMS and promote a commitment to service in our graduates.
- 100% of our students meet or exceed the minimum 40-hour requirement. Students present information about their community service projects to their peers prior to graduation.
