PEM Salary & Benefits

Guaranteed Base Salaries
(Rates reflect the current academic year and are periodically increased each June by the EVMS GME office.)

  • Post Graduate Year 4 - $58,913
  • Post Graduate Year 5 - $60,413
  • Post Graduate Year 6 - $61,910

NOTE:  Fellows who are in good standing with the program and on track with their research project(s) will earn an additional $10,000-$12,000 dollars per year during the PGY5/PGY6 training years as merit pay or alternatively, fellows can elect to enroll in one of six advanced degree programs whereby tuition and fees are fully paid and merit pay is reduced based upon the cost of the chosen educational program. Additionally, moonlighting opportunities in our off site CHKD urgent care centers are available for fellows in all years of training.

Paid Relocations
A matched fellow who moves to the Norfolk, Virginia area to being fellowship will receive up to $500 to assist with relocation expenses.
