Pediatric Emergency Medicine

Overview

The Emergency Medicine Division offers emergency health care 24 hours a day to patients less than 21 years of age. The Division is responsible for the immediate treatment of any medical or surgical emergency, for initiating life saving procedures in all types of emergent situations, and for providing emergency care for injuries and illnesses.

The state of the art emergency department consists of 26 treatment rooms including the main department and Minor Care area. The emergency department is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Board Certified/Eligible physician. Additional double coverage is provided 16 hours a day by Board Certified Pediatricians.

The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division also supports a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship training Program, fully accredited by the ACGME.
