The mission of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program at Eastern Virginia Medical School is to train the academic future leaders in Maternal-Fetal Medicine with the following four major goals:
- Develop superb technical skills in obstetrical sonography with an emphasis on prenatal diagnosis, fetal echocardiography, Doppler ultrasound, and cardiovascular fetal assessment.
- Enhance surgical skills in obstetrics through involvement with complicated surgical cases, including placental abnormalities.
- Enhance the expertise in clinical research through one-on-one mentorship in research planning and execution.
- Expand the knowledge in global health with opportunities for field work with maternal fetal medicine faculty.
