Eastern Virginia Medical School’s collegial atmosphere encourages a vibrant, close-knit campus community. The learning environment at EVMS integrates education, research, and clinical training programs that focus on building strong service leaders in the health community. From the time Students start at EVMS, through rotations and residency, they are surrounded by people dedicated to making this their home.
EVMS is on the Eastern Virginia Medical Campus which also houses two of our partners Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD)
Student Clubs and Interest Groups
There are over 80 Student Clubs and Interest Groups approved by the Pan Student Council (PSC) Leadership Committee. Each semester PSC puts on a club fair for students to gauge which clubs they would like to join. Student organization activities are required to support the EVMS vision of being “the most community oriented medical school in the nation”.
Participation in student organizations extend far beyond the walls of a clinic, hospital, or health care organization, enabling students to sharpen crucial communication, organization, professional, clinical, and teamwork skills that will benefit their future work. These experiences also help students learn about the surrounding communities, healthcare disparities, and face current issues in health care.
