Robert Campbell, Jr., Ph.D., MS, is Assistant Professor in the Graduate Programs in Public Health and the Center for Health Analytics Discovery at EVMS. Dr. Campbell is a retired Air Force officer with over 26 years of distinguished military service, including two tours of service in Afghanistan and retiring out of the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force-Inspector General. Dr. Campbell completed NIH pre-doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and the Medical University of South Carolina, respectively. As a clinical research epidemiologist, Dr. Campbell has extensive experiences in health services and outcomes research in academic, federal government, military and regulatory settings.   In addition to lupus outcomes research, Dr. Campbellā€™s expertise and research interest includes PTSD, health disparities, pharmacoepidemiology (gastrointestinal, dental, and dermatologic therapeutic areas), and large database analyses. Dr. Campbell earned his Bachelor of Arts (1987) in Modern Languages (French) at The Citadel and a Master of Science (1997) in Preventive Medicine from The Ohio State University. He received his Doctorate in Philosophy from Case Western Reserve University (2006) where his dissertation examined the multidimensional burden of SLE.
