Student Course FAQ
We are requiring all instructors, students, and staff to:
- Wear a face mask (everyone) and eye protection/face shield (when working within 6 ft. of another individual).
- Maintain 6 ft. social distancing at all times, unless closer encounters are necessary during the skill station. Less than 6 ft. encounters require wearing eye goggles or face shield with a face mask.
- Students are expected to wash their hands upon entering the simulation room and to use hand sanitizer liberally during the skill session.
Please ensure that the online course modules and online course evaluation have been completed. Dress comfortably as you will be performing skills that require bending, standing, lifting, etc. As a reminder, please allow yourself ample time to park in the visitor parking garage and walk to our building.
The course is held on the second floor of Lester Hall, located at 651 Colley Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23507.
The online key will be provided to you via email from keys@onlineaha.org approximately 30 days prior to your scheduled hands-on training session. In cases where you register for a course within 30 days of the hands-on training session, you will be emailed a key code within two business day of registration.
Please select an alternative date with open availability if your preferred selection is closed. For additional assistance, please email lifesupport@evms.edu. Please do not register online for a closed course.
Email lifesupport@evms.edu to provide your name, email address, and the date that you completed the course.
HeartCode classes do not require a hardcopy of the student manual. A digital version is embedded in the online part 1 course, and remains available for the duration of the 2-year certification.
