Makes about 1 cup


  • 2 slices whole wheat bread


  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees.Place bread directly on oven racks. Bake for 35 minutes. Remove carefully and allow to cool.
  • Crumble slices over a bowl into fine crumbs. Use as a coating for chicken, to add bulk to meatloaf, or in other recipes calling for breadcrumbs.
  • Store breadcrumbs in an airtight container.
